For a while, we gave xoponex only to peds and elderly, or those with cardiac conditions. We gave albuterol to otherwise healty adults. With both, however, we administer it with Atrovent. It gives a somewhat longer acting relief if it is going to work. We are toying with the idea of administering Mag sulfate, and bringing back Brethine. The big thing they preach aroind here, is to attempt a breathing treatment, but if the patient is progressing toward failure, go ahead and RSI. They want us to do that while the patient still has as much oxygen reserve as possible. This has met with some controversy with some of our medics. What do you guys think?

I think you have a topic for another discussion entirely.

I agree, this is another discussion but it was a great segway. I think this could be fun. If there are no objections, let's start on that issue and debate away. As it is late here, I'll have to think on this and give my opinion at another time.
