STAT MEDEVAC Physician Receives “EMS 10: Innovators In EMS 2008” Award |
Frank Guyette, MD, MS, MPH of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was recognized during the opening ceremonies at The JEMS Conference on Thursday, March 26th. The award was sponsored by JEMS, with support from Physio-Control Inc., and recognized the top 10 EMS innovators in 2008.
Guyette is a board certified emergency physician at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), an assistant professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine, and serves as an associate medical director for the STAT MedEvac Air Medical Program.
Guyette is a 2001 graduate of Tulane University School of Medicine and completed his Emergency Medicine Residency in 2004, at the University of Pittsburgh. Guyette lives with his wife in the Pittsburgh area.
STAT MedEvac, a service of the non-profit Center for Emergency Medicine of Western Pennsylvania, Inc., provides medical helicopter transport to patients with critical illness and/or injuries. The organization, which operates seventeen base sites, is directed by a consortium of hospitals: UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, UPMC Mercy Hospital, and Altoona Regional Health System.
